Two months back, I noticed a blister on my tongue. I consulted an ENT doctor, who biopsied the ulcer, and advised surgery. I was looking for an expert surgeon in head & neck oncology. In the meantime, Dr Shilpi Sharma at Max Hospital, Dwarka, New Delhi, was recommended to my elder daughter (who is a doctor abroad) by her batchmate in her medical college. Without any delay, I consulted Dr Sharma the next day, who clearly explained the need for immediate Glossectomy (Tongue surgery) after a few tests to be done on priority. Her explanations, clarity and confidence in that field was highly impressive. She has immense depth of knowledge and experience with renowned hospitals like Tata Memorial. Her calmness to a serious surgical intervention motivated me to understand that I was in safe hands as I prepared myself for the surgery. After 8 hours of a major surgery involving plastic surgery as well, on 19 June 2025, she was very satisfied with the outcome . After 10 days of post-surgery care at the hospital, under her strict observation with commanding control of in-patient ICU and ward nurse staff, I was discharged home. I am presently recuperating well with good progress each day.
